Decoration: Characteristic of Padua in the style of simple roman capitals on a colored field decorated with interlaced knot patterns. Origin: Written and decorated in Padua in the late 15th century.
Owned by the Coppo family of Venice; Pietro Giometti; from 1862 owned by Baldasarre Boncompagni; 1902 acquired by George Dunn; sold 1913 by Sotheby's, London to Maggs Bros.; purchased by Robert Garrett from the bookseller Wilfrid M.
