Written in medium small naskh (professional hand) in black ink with use of red. Soft cream paper, glossy, with laid and chain lines visible. Fol. 9-12 are later replacements on European paper. The commented text is written in red on the margins. Marginal annotations on the beginning of the text, apparently by the same hand as the main text. Several... Origin: Copy completed on Friday, 14 Rabīʻ al-Ākhar 808 [Oct. 9, 1405] in Samarqand in the mausoleum? of Abū Manṣūr al-Māturīdī by Jalāl ibn ...? (colophon, fol. 475a). Inscription in red pencil in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "...? 34". Inscription in black ink in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "Ḥ 902".
