Written in small naskh in black ink with use of red ; final yāʼ dotted. Thick European paper with watermark. Fol. 1 is a later addition. Ḥāshiyah on the margin (partly cut off due to the trimming of the pages). Several inscriptions on fol. 2a, 50a-b, including a prayer (duʻā). Quinions, see collation. Inscriptions and rosace on the paper binding. Collation: Paper, fol. 50 ; i (later added fly-leaf) 1-310 410 (-1, after fol. 39, with loss of text) 510 ; catchword on the verso of each leaf but the middle bifolio of each quire. Origin: According to colophon, copied by Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ʻAlī ibn Aḥmad al-shahīr bi-Ibn al-Malā al-Shāfiʻī, 19 Dhū al-Ḥijjah 962 [Nov. 4, 1555], from an autograph copy (fol. 50a).
