On p. 1 of free end paper: Samarqandī. Kitāb yashtamilu ʻalá taḥdhīr wa-tabshīr murattab ʻalá ʻasharah abwāb wa-khātimah.
Ms in naskh script on glazed paper. Keywords and headings in red ink. 22.7 x 16.1 cm. Catchwords; text unvocalized. Very few marginal notes.
Paper is laid, glazed stock and quite heavy. Some smudges and minor stains. Leaves toward end of volume have water stain along outer and bottom edges. Leaves bear watermark showing a crescent moon on a shield with scalloped top. Also block letters AG.
Binding is recent. Green cloth.
Last nine words of colophon beginning "wa-ṣallá ..." appear to be in a different hand.
Cover bears name of previous owner stamped in gold: Muḥammad ʻUlwān.
