Marginal notes and gloss. Two verses of poetry by Ibn Nubātah (title page). Several verses of poetry, autographs of owners, a statement in praise of the book, an ode by Muḥammad ibn al-Naḥḥās (upper and lower pastedowns and flyleaves).
Collation: Paper ; fol. (1) + 285 ; catchwords ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
Layout: 21 lines per page in one or two columns ; frame-ruled in red and black.
Description: Headings in red, black and yellow ; watermarks (crown-star-crescent; roman-alphabet initials "AD") ; MS in fair condition but several folios are worm-eaten.
Decoration: Title page decorated with a frame of yellow and red, and some concentric circles. First two spreads in the manuscript frame-ruled in yellow, black and red (fol. 1b-3a). Small marginal black and red illustrations.
Origin: According to colophon copy completed on perhaps 5 Jumādá al-Awwal 1079 for Ṣafī al-Dīn Aḥmad ibn al-Ḥusayn ibn Amīr al-Muʼminīn al-Manṣūr billāh al-Qāsim ibn Muḥammad ibn Ṣawwān by ʻAbd Allāh ibn Surūr (fol. 283b).
