Leaf 1a has part of a well-known hadith: "al-Jannah taḥt aqdām al-ummahāt" repeated four times in red and black ink. Ownership inscription on f. 1a has date 1221 (i.e. 1804 or 5). Ms. in clear vocalized naskh script on glazed paper. 25.1 x 17 cm. Headings in red ink. Catchwords. No marginalia. Paper is glazed laid stock. Some minor stains. Some leaves bear a watermark depicting an anchor with two flukes, the lower half in a circle; the top has four spokes. Similar to Briquet, Les Filigranes, no. 496. Text block has been trimmed. Binding is red leather, wallet style. The covers and envelope flap have been repaired with green buckram. PUL Bookplate on p. 2 of cover lists donors of volume.
