The text is framed with a border in gold outlined in black. Thin cream paper, glossy, with laid and chain lines visible. Marginal annotations. Inscriptions in Ottoman Turkish on fol. (ii)b, one dated 1307 H. Quaternions and quinions ; catchword on the verso of each... Decoration: Illuminated headpieces on fol.1b and 22b, naively executed in gold and colors. Fol. (i)a, 1a, 237b and (ii)b are silver or gold sprinkled. Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "Taṣawwuf 3-". Origin: According to colophon, copied by Muṣṭafá, and completed in Jumādá II 966 [March 1559] (fol. 237a). Stamp on fol. 4a, 70a, 236a. Acquired from Abraham Shalom Yahuda, 1942.
