Physical description: 26 lines per page. Written in medium small naskh in black ink with use of red. Commented text in red. Thick European apper with watermark; glossy. Collation notes on the margin. Verses of poetry on fol. 1a, some attributed to Abū al-ʻAlā al-Maʻarrī. Majority of quinions.
Collation: Paper, fol. i, 99 ; i (later added fly-leaf) 110 (-1 at beginning of quire) 2-1010 ; catchword on the verso of each leaf.
Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the upper cover: "al-ʻUlūm al-...(?) 53". Inscription in Arabic script on a label pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover: "Ḥ 351". Inscription in Arabic script on fol. 1a: "Numrah 221".
Origin: According to colophon, copied by ʻUmar ibn al-shaykh ʻUmar ibn al-shaykh Abī Bakr ibn al-shaykh ʻUmar ibn al-shaykh Sulaymān al-MNBJī al-ʻAdawī al-Shāfiʻī, Saturday end of Rajab 1069 [April 1659] (fol. 99a).
