Provenance: Purchased from Liber Antiquus, 2022; 1. Near-contemporary name on vellum fly-leaf “Doña MaríaAntónia Miranda”, 2. late 17th c. (1696) manuscript inscription on rear manuscript flyleaf “Tiene esta reglaciento y ochenta y cinco años de confirmacion, oy diez y nueve…”; 3. engraved 19th c. bookplate of L.Cervera Vera on front pastedown.
The Conceptionist nuns developed their own rule in 1511, after following various other Rules subsequent to their founding in 1489.
The final folio of the rule notes the date "en el año dela encarnation de nostro salvador Jesu christo de mil y quinientos y onze años a quinze kalendas de octubre en el año octavo de nostro pontificado." This is likely the date in which the rule was written, rather a colophon dating this specific manuscript.
