Binding: Manuscript was treated and rebound in 2021/22. The original pastedowns were lifted and preserved. All manuscript leaves with the exception of the title page with color pigments were washed and treated with a phytate solution to stabilize the iron gall inks. Paper tears were repaired and folios were guarded as needed with Japanese paper and starch paste.
Binding: Damage from ink degradation was mended as needed with solvent set 5-10 g Japanese paper. Pages were resewn with new handmade paper endpapers and a Japanese paper concertina guard onto alum tawed thongs. The thongs were laced into a new non-adhesive limp binding made from hand made case paper with tab and slot corners.
Binding: The original pastedowns from the parchment binding were reattached into the new binding. The original parchment wrapper was flattened and opened and preserved separately.
Provenance: Purchased from Chancery Hill Manuscripts, 2018
